I went to Lowes this afternoon. I needed to buy a rubber O-ring for a repair to my son’s car. I had to buy a little assortment package, but it all worked out in the end.But the really interesting thing is that I saw the Lowes cart-man and was reminded of our one short conversation.
A few months ago I went to Lowes wearing a t-shirt with Ronald Reagan’s face on it. It is an old shirt that I sometimes wear when painting or doing other household projects. Anyway, while returning to the car the cart-man made a comment to me. It was something like, “I was Reagan’s driver for a while; the best days of my life.” I didn’t make any reply, I really was not clear on what the man said, I later got a bit of fill-in from my wife.
So, the same cart-man was working today. I was tempted to go ask him about it. But I didn’t. Someday I’m going to find out.
