Southerland Mattress

[Today’s run: 4.5 miles]
A few years ago my wife and I went to a furniture store to buy a new bed.  We picked out a “sleigh” style bed, a mattress and a box spring set.

Well, after about 3 years the thing was so uncomfortable we decided to try to get something else.  It happened that my wife’s folks had a mattress in their guest room that they would let us have.  So we took our terrible mattress over and swapped with them.  Happy ending, I can sleep again.

I called the Southerland company to see what they had to say for themselves.  They said I could make a warranty claim.  I asked if they actually fill those claims, and they said fill out the form.

They kindly sent me a form and a warranty brochure (which I don’t believe we had ever seen before).  To make a claim on the warranty you have to take pictures of the mattress, pictures of the box spring, pictures of the bed frame.  And you have to show that “body images” are at least 1-1/2 inches in depth.

I’m telling you, this mattress is like two troughs side by side.  It is terrible.  We spun it, we couldn’t flip it.  We did everything you are supposed to do.  We took good care of it.  But the thing is a piece of junk.

I took a few pictures.  I filled out the form.  Back comes another copy of the warranty brochure and a list of pictures they want.

Tell you what, Southerland,  we’ll just skip the  phony warranty claim square-dance and I’ll tell the world that your product is junk.  I think that has a better chance of bringing me satisfaction.

Don’t buy a mattress from the Southerland mattress company at 1973 Southerland Drive in Nashville, TN.  Take my advice, go somewhere else.
