[today’s run: 3.3]
On Friday evening, after normal working hours, the doc from the local clinic called to tell my wife her potassium levels were once again too low and we should go to the ER in Hattiesburg.
My wife held her off on that. But on Saturday we eventually got ourselves put together and headed down, maybe 9:30 am.
First we stopped at a very good BBQ place called Murky Waters and had a very nice brunch.
Then we went to the ER and they drew blood to repeat the test and we sat. Eventually they moved us into a room in the ER space. And eventually we talked to a couple of doctors. They figured she would need to stay overnight to get back up to snuff.
Not long after that I left for home. I think I got home just before dark.
Then Sunday morning she called and I drove back down. It turned out she never did get a “real” room. But they did get her topped off.
We left the hospital and went to a breakfast place called Vicious Biscuit for brunch. I had pancakes. She had an omelet. It was really good.
So, if you look at it in just the right light it was kind of like a spa weekend.
