Unknown Putative Father

An item from today’s newspaper, legal notice section in the classifieds caught my eye.

Not so long ago there were lots of orphans in the world.  Their parents would get sick and die.  So maybe a relative would take them in.  I remember reading some census data from the late 1800’s and seeing how one family evolved as various members died off.  It started out with Dad, Mom and kids, but ended with Step-dad and a mix of surviving kids.  Everyone else had disappeared, probably died.

But today we start the kids off already half orphaned.  It makes me angry.

The other reason this caught my attention is that there is no indication of who this is about except for the initials A.C.H.  No mother, no father and just three letters for the child.

My apologies to A.C.H. who deserves a real mother and a real father:
