[Today’s run: nothing]

We returned to the house today after an 8 day trip out of town.

We were two nights on the road, 4 nights in Ft. Collins, Colorado, then two more nights on the road on the way back.

One new experience was taking US 45 north all the way to Paduca, KY.  Not a bad way to go.  Definitely more enjoyable than going through Memphis but a bit slower.  Found a nice country grocery/cheese shop along the way.  We then took interstate through St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, to Ft. Collins.  Downtown areas of St Louis are just sad. Lots of empty brick buildings with spray painting and broken out windows.

While in Colorado we made a quick dash up to Estes Park and drove up to Rainbow Curve on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mtn National Park.  It was National Park Week  so we didn’t have to pay the $20 to get into the park.

Picture here is from the turn-out stop on Trail Ridge overlooking Moraine Park.
