Air travel

[Today’s run: none]

Today I flew from Denver to Atlanta, then from Atlanta to Columbus, MS.  If my understanding is correct, the only way in or out of the regional Columbus airport is through Atlanta these days.

The Atlanta airport is a very busy place.  This is concourse D.

I don’t get much accomplished on the days that I fly.  I left the hotel this morning around 7:30 and got home around 5:30 pm.  In the course of the day I looked at the email on my blackberry a couple of times.  But I did not use my laptop and I was pretty much ineffective all day.  You see some people making phone calls in the airport and doing work on the plane.  I get stressed out worrying if I am going to make that last connection to home.

The plane from Denver to Atlanta was completely full as far as I could tell.  It was a 3-3 seating arrangement (757?) and I was in a middle seat with an older lady on one side and a graduate student on the other side (grading papers). I played some kind of trivia quiz game on the little seat-back computer thingy.  The flight to Columbus is a 2-2 configuration and I had an aisle.  It also looked full.  We had some rough air above Atlanta but the rest of the flight was fine.

In between I was in Atlanta finding some lunch and trying to weave through this crowd.
