Grocery Store

[Today’s run: 1.5 miles with wife and dog (alternating run/walk)]

Here’s a picture of the ketchup and BBQ sauce selection at our local grocery store.

The picture didn’t turn out very will but it will work for my purposes.

When we lived in Ft. Collins we went either to Wal-Mart or to King Soopers for groceries.  Here in Columbus we usually go to either Wal-Mart or Kroger.  Kroger is also part of the same company as King Soopers.  We sometimes go to Piggly Wiggly or Southern Family Market, but not very often.

Grocery stores in Ft. Collins have big aisle displays of tortillas.  Big.  Lots and lots of tortillas from lots of suppliers.  But, I don’t remember seeing chitterlings or pigs ears.

Here in Columbus, Kroger has is one row labeled “Ethnic Food” which has one shelf for tortillas, about 4ft long and probably all from one supplier.  That row also has taco kits and soy sauce.  They have a section of the freezer department full of pigs knuckles and chitterlings and such.

In Columbus there are lots of BBQ sauces, I suppose there are twice as many varieties as I remember there being in King Soopers.

I think both Colorado and Mississippi can agree about the importance of ketchup though.

Another thing,  the Wal-Mart deli in Ft. Collins had BBQ boneless chicken wings.  They were good.  The Wal-Mart here doesn’t sell them.  Instead they have random chicken parts, I think they are kidneys or gizzards or something, breaded and deep fried.  Beaks and feet, or might as well be.. bleh!  So some things are better and some things aren’t.
