Feedline planning

[today’s run: 4 miles]

I found a website with a spreadsheet talking about 1/12th wavelength impedance transformers for use with feedline.

I have in place this 75 Ohm CATV feedline but I have 50 Ohm antenna and 50 Ohm transmitter.  So I plan to build two of these transformer sections, one for each end.

I’m hoping I can use a section of CATV here on the ground as a test platform before I install the antenna on the tower.

Also I plan to put lightning arrestor devices at both ends of the feed line.  I can buy those at MFJ over in Starkville.

If that works, it will save me about $300 and the grief of running another feedline up the tower.
