I think today is going to be a little bit of lots of different things. Some of these things you’ve probably heard about already…
The big news yesterday was winning a free entry into the Air Force Marathon. I was pretty excited about this, primarily because I never win anything! This was a big deal.
I vaguely remember entering the drawing. It was quite a while back. I don’t even remember if I had been accepted into Berlin yet. No, I’m positive I wasn’t because I wouldn’t have entered if I had known about Berlin already.
See, the Air Force Marathon is on September 19. I am leaving for Berlin, Germany, On Sept 22. I don’t see myself traveling to Ohio, running a marathon on the 19th, traveling back to Mississippi on the 20th, driving to Alabama on the 21st and hopping on a plane on the 22nd and sitting on that plane for 18 hours. Running the Berlin Marathon on the 27th and then hopping on a plane on the 30 and sitting another 18 hours, getting in the car and driving back home from Alabama to Mississippi.
Nope. I don’t see that happening.
I contacted the people with the free registration to see if I could defer to next year. Nope. Transfer the registration to a friend? Nope.
Use it or lose it.
I lost it.

Yesterday, MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I also rented a storage locker. We are storing a LOT of stuff here at the house and it is time to get some of it out of here.
We took two pick up truck loads of stuff to the storage locker last night after MFH was done with work. By then it was getting dark(ish) and time to call it a day. I don’t know if we’ll get any more loads taken over today. We’re supposed to have rain this afternoon. Fingers crossed on that.
With the beautiful weather we’ve had this week, I’ve been trying the last three days to get a 15 miler in. I ran 6 on Sunday and only 6. I just didn’t have enough time on Sunday to get any more miles in before church.
Monday, and Tuesday, I ran 10.00. Monday, my goal was 10.00. Had a lovely run! Tuesday, I decided to try for 15 miles. It warmed up fast on Tuesday and I didn’t have anything to drink with me. Made it to 10 and that was all I had in me.
Today, I took Gatorade with me. She can be taught! Again, I was going to try for 15~just because I didn’t get it yesterday. 10.55 was it for the day. Too many days in a row with double digit runs. *sigh* It was beautiful out, though!
Tomorrow, I’m thinking I’m only going to run 10K. Nice and easy.
Paxton is on the mend! He started eating and drinking yesterday. Today, he even ASKED for food! This is wonderful!!! I don’t like it when he’s sick. It’s too quiet.
I met a FB/Running friend while I was running my 50K on March 7. Nice guy. He makes shirts and decals primarily for runners. He had made himself a shirt specifically for that Ultra.
I met him on the trail during the race. We had never met before IRL but I’d recognize that shirt anywhere! I hollered at him, “Hey, Kevin! I’d know that shirt anywhere!” or something like that.
He stopped and laughed and we ran along side each other for a couple of miles and then I left him in the dust. HA! (I really did finish almost 2 whole hours ahead of him. He had a rough day on the trails.)
Anyway, I got an envelope in the mail from him earlier this week. He had made me a decal for my car, using the logo from the race we had run the week before (and yes, he had permission to use the logo). How awesome is that!?! MFH put it on the car immediately. Smart man I married. 🙂
I’m sure there are other things to catch y’all up on but I’m burning daylight today and have a list a mile long of things to get done.
