Today was been a great day! It has also be rather…strange.
This morning, I actually woke up! I mean, there was no staggering around the house towards the kitchen trying to make coffee in my sleep. I was awake!
Last night MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I watched an old spaghetti western, Fist Full of Dollars, starring Clint Eastwood. That movie ran until 10:00 pm. We went to bed a full hour later than usual. We were tired and feel asleep pretty quick.
During the night, I had charlie horses in my left leg. They woke me up three times. Ouch! I was sure that my leg would be sore this morning because of that, but I woke up “Bright eyed and bushy tailed.” Not sore and ready to go.
Today was a rest day so that meant errands. I needed to go to the Pharmacy, WalMart and the Co-op. I fiddled around online for an hour, showered and then headed on out the door with #1 son. We ran our errands, grabbed some lunch and came home.
As we came in the door, MFH met us and said, “A newspaper reporter is going to come over in 2 hrs to take some pics for the newspaper.”
Yikes!!! The house was a mess!!!
See, in training for this 50K, I have had to prioritize some things as my mileage has increased and the race gets closer. MFH and I discussed it and decided that the house did NOT have to be as “sterilized” as I like it to be. It has about killed me, but I do not scrub down the house every day like I used to. I sweep the floors, run the sweeper on the carpets, do the laundry, cook, etc, every day like I always have but as far as the deep cleaning? Nope. And it looks it, too. Drives me nuts.
When MFH said that a stranger was going to see my house I about died! Oh NO!!! It looks awful! I haven’t dusted since Monday!!! So…I went on a furious cleaning spree. I was a blur I was cleaning so fast (got it done, too). I had 30 minutes to spare. The newspaper person came, did not even come into the house! She took her pics of MFH and left. It was rather anticlimactic. But the house was presentable!
So, that was that.
I guess it was about a month ago, MFH joined MFP. He is doing well, too! I have him on my FL. He is not as sociable as I am but there is no law that says he has to! Today, #1 son signed up. He has decided that he would like to lose about 15 pounds. I fired off a FR to him once he had his account set up. Support is crucial to success. At least that is how I feel. I wish him the best!!!
Now, MFH and #1 son are in Starkville. They are paying the final rent payment on #1 sons apartment. He will be living with us a little bit while he is a student at MSU (Mississippi State University). He re-enrolled last week. Changed his major from Meteorology to Communications (Journalism). He has very strong writing skills and I think he will do well!!!
The day is almost done. Whew! Soon, it will be “Bedtime for Birdies” and I will shoo the chickens into the tractor for the evening. Paxton likes to be on his zipline while I do that. He “supervises” the chickens comings and goings…from the safety of his zipline (He’s the biggest chicken of them all). The cats, Kali and Castro, usually help, too. I think they really are secretly hoping that a chicken gets loose and they get a tasty treat!
Tomorrow is the 4th of July. Nothing special planned here. We do have some fireworks so we will be making things go “BANG!” tomorrow evening. I plan on a medium sized run in the morning but that’s about it. Saturday, the 5th, is my nephew’s 16th birthday so we will be doing celebrating that day instead.
Have a lovely evening, all!!!
