Today’s Run: 5.50 miles
I need a blog topic today and was hoping y’all could help me out. I did not write a blog yesterday because I was flat out of ideas. I guess that comes with dull country living.
My husband suggested that I write about winterizing my chickens. I do not do anything to winterize the chickens. It does not get cold enough here to HAVE to do anything for winter so that idea was a bust. Same goes for the honey bees.
However, I do have to feed the honey bees during the winter. Bees will fly/forage any time it is over 50 F. That means a great deal of our winter our bees are buzzing around, looking for food when there is nothing in bloom. Poor bees. We feed them a 50/50 mixture of cane table sugar and water. They love it~ plus it keeps them from starving to death. We want healthy bees come spring.
I have one more week of play time with my running and then I being training for the Ultra. I’m getting rather nervous about that. I think the thing that has me the most apprehensive is the weekend with the 30 mile run on Saturday and the very next day another 15 miles. That sounds almost (mind the word Almost) un-doable. But, we will cross that bridge when we get to it.
MFH (My Favorite Husband) is working on our son’s truck right now. It is rusted out underneath. BAD. His truck came from up north where they use a lot of salt on the roads in the winter. He has the bed off of the truck and is dismantling it and replacing parts bit by bit. It will practically be a brand new truck by the time he is done with it!
Our weather has been perfect! It was 37 F. sunny, and a light breeze when I went on my run this morning. I was chilly! It was wonderful!!! After this super hot summer we had and training for the marathon through all that heat, it was a joy to be chilly!!!
And FYI, my life is anything but dull. Country living suits me. I like the structure of the chores. The bees. The chickens. The dog and cats. My husband…I like it all.
