Today’s Run: Rest Day
Today is a rest day. YAY! It used to be that “Rest Day” was the most dreaded day of the week on my training schedule. An entire day of nothingness…unless you count housework, cooking, looking after the animals, etc. as nothingness.
Running is a major component of my life right now. The training for the marathon seems to encompass every waking moment. Why? Because both my husband and myself are bone weary from running but there is always more miles to do.
Do not get me wrong. That was not a complaint! I have loved every minute of this training!!! But 30+ miles per week and neither one of us are spring chickens any more…it just takes it toll. Why, one day this week, I even slept in until 6:00 am! I NEVER to that! So, yes, we are a little tired.
So, what is going well? Everything!
Our mileage is pretty close to it’s peak and we are still standing. I consider that “Doing Well”.
I am now state rep for a running group online. That is considered “Doing Well”.
The kids are doing great in their chosen activities~I definitely consider that a success for them.
The chickens are laying well. The cats are cats so I do not know what you would call that~and the dog pretty much sleeps through the night without bothering us. All is well!
So, all we have to do is stay on our feet, train for nine more weeks, run 26.2 miles and then rest a well earned rest. Sounds great to me!!!
