[Today’s run: 5.5 miles]
I was a bit under the weather yesterday so I took the afternoon off. Sometimes it is good to dip into that available sick-time when the old thinker is not really up to par. I hate changing something and having 50-100 people suddenly locked out of the system and everybody pointing at me. Ok, so just step back and take a break.
Instead I was goofing around with the radio station playback system. Each day I form a list of play for the next day. That list is called a “log”. I was working on a query of the database that would show the major piece being broadcast for each hour. I got that working pretty good.
Then I found information about how to make a post on a WordPress website (like this one) using a script.
And then I joined the scripts together. So now I can easily have tomorrow’s log turn into a web post showing the major pieces for tomorrow’s broadcast. You saw an example in my post yesterday. And our radio station website has them over here.
I’m pretty happy with that. I would like to make the title clickable to send you to librivox.org so you could download the same piece for yourself, or see the text that was recorded. Also, I would like to figure out a way to show the full schedule. That is more tricky.
But I was gratified that I could get this far and maybe the next steps will go as smoothly.
