Although I live not too far from two different state-run universities, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of surplus stuff around here. But I did finally snag something that could be interesting.
Sold on the GSA website, it is an ancient Finnigan MAT mass spectrometer. That’s pretty exciting.
There is one tall rack with electronics in it and a shorter rack with power supplies and very large vacuum pumps.
And there is a vacuum oven (very rusty) and some chemical pumps.
I think I’m going to try to get the large rack dismantled before I try to get it off the pickup truck. The vacuum pump rack also may need some of that treatment.
This should give me a good supply of knobs, screws and sheet metal for my other projects.
