I have been making some good progress on the autonomous weatherstation project.
As you may recall, I bought some surplus weather station units. I’d like to have them operate autonomously and present their data via web browser.
I bought a BeagleBone SBC (single board computer) and a USB wifi thingy. After wrestling with that for awhile, I got some more parts and the BeagleBone was talking to the weather station. I then found a webpage which gave directions for installing an updated driver for the wifi and that is now working.
I was able to install various libraries and then the wview weather software. I have some more work to do, but it is really looking pretty good. Next I need to work on the power system.
