[Today’s run: 11 miles]
At the hamfest last week I bought the two analog video surveillance cameras and brought them home. Then for about a day and a half I really enjoyed trying to figure out how to make them work.
I think that is really the key to my enjoyment with ham radio and with my work. I enjoy figuring out how to make stuff work. Usually I’m not designing from scratch. I do a little bit of that in the software world but not much in the electronics world. But finding out about how something works, I think that is interesting.
I’m waiting for a similar project to show up via UPS this week. Last week I bought some surplus weather station equipment. I have the manual printed off and I think I can get this equipment up and running at my house and be back in the weather station game after a pause of 5 years. That will be fun.
