Goodbye hamfest receiver

[Today’s run: 1 mile then sprints.  Yesterday was 1 mile with the dog]

If you have followed my recent education about homebrew tube receivers as kicked off by the acquisition of an interesting unfinished item at the Jackson, MS hamfest; you may want to know that I have traded that item off to someone who really wanted it.

I had come to the conclusion that I was going to use it as a parts source.  But this person said they wanted to try to rebuild and complete it.  It seems more fitting that someone with the desire to finish it up should be able to give that a try.

In exchange I’m to get some parts that I can use in a receiver project of my own.

I sent it off in the mail.  I hope to hear how things turn out.

But now I have this desire to build a Crosby-design receiver (HBR-14/HBR-16/HBR-11, etc).  I’ve done a little bit of digging in my junk box(es) and I think I have the parts for the power supply, and maybe a few more things.  I have a chassis I can use.  I’m now on the lookout for the right kind of tuning capacitor (and various other things).
