Ham club Christmas eats

[Today’s run: 2 miles with wife and dog]

Tonight I went to the ham club meeting. December meeting is held at Ryans buffet in Columbus.

We had a good turnout of members, family and a few new folks. I talked with a ham who recently moved back to the area after being in Texas for quite a while. He is getting his station set up and making plans to pass the General Class examination.

We had a good visit.

My recent radio activity has been pretty fruitful. This morning I made contact with E51MAN in the Cook Islands on 40 meters (7 mHz). I need to get my logs entered into the computer so that I can upload them into the LoTW (Logbook of The World) on the ARRL website. I think, with the fall DX operations and the recent contest I will have gone over the 100 country mark of confirmed contacts on LoTW.

Nothing much to report on electronics projects. I have some new project boards that I got as a birthday present. One is a development board for the Xilinx CoolRunner CPLD. I don’t know much about CPLD chips. I think it is something like an FPGA. It looks like a cool toy and I hope to do some interesting stuff with it.
