Politics today.
I don’t know how I got myself to MSNBC to see this news item (beware, you will probably lose IQ points just by reading it):
Romney Hits Obama for Vacation Locale Which Romney Himself Visits Later This Month
The text says that Romney (a guy running for nomination for president on the R side) commented negatively that the current president (a-D) is taking a vacation in Martha’s Vinyard, MA (that he should be working in Washington to get us through economic difficulties) and lets us in on the little bombshell that Romney himself will be candidating in Martha’s Vinyard, MA later this month! Gasp!
That might be a gotcha moment except for some basic facts: Romney used to be governor of MA and is raising funds for his campaign. Raising funds is his job these days. Therefore, Romney will not be on vacation. Also, Romney isn’t employed by the government, so he is spending his own money on the trip (or money of his campaign funds, I expect).
I’m not a big Romney fan. And I have some differences with the President but generally think he has done a good job avoiding improprieties during his national political career.
The people I really have some trouble with are the folks at MSNBC who are trying really hard to make Romney look bad in such an transparent way. By bending over to make Romney look hypocritical they just show their own rear ends.
