[Today’s run: Watson Road 3.5 miles]
Watson Road dead-ends at a gate and that is where I turn around and head back. Yesterday there was a pickup truck waiting at the gate. The gate was locked. I spoke to the man there and he said they were doing some work on the house.
Also, there was a real estate agent’s sign on the gate. So the place is for sale.
I took a picture of the sign this morning, and waved to the pickup truck man as he arrived right when
I was turning back for home.
I looked up the property on the county’s property website. Then I did a google search and saw that the owner died earlier this year, in his early ’90s. I wonder why none of his children or grandchildren want to buy the place? Maybe they are having problems dividing up the estate and have to liquidate it. The online real estate listing says they are asking just under 900K for a 3 bedroom house and 232 acres of land ($3500 per acre? kind of steep.)
