What a funny day it has been today. Kind of spooky funny and absolutely hilarious funny. Two kinds of funny all in one day!
First, the spooky funny:
This is some of my post to Aiden today:
We didn’t have a very big run today. We ended up with a total of 4.10 miles. Compared to the stuff we’ve been running lately, it wasn’t very many miles…
Anyway, I got to the end of my street when I saw a white SUV stop in the middle of the street I was getting ready to turn onto. Then I heard, Pop! Pop! I thought to myself, that’s gunfire!
I noticed another car that had been coming up behind the white SUV throw its car into reverse and start drive backwards. It was scared. It had heard the gun, too. I thought to myself, “Hmmm, maybe I should change my route!”
No chance to change because my road is a cul-de-sac. No outlet. That meant no-where for me to go.
The white SUV then turned onto my road right next to me! Now, this is where the story is okay…
The driver of the SUV was my neighbors son. He had seen a deer in the empty field and had decided to try to “catch” it. I looked at what I was wearing. It was the bright pink hooded jacket. I don’t know of many deer who wear those so I don’t think I was in any danger of being mistaken for a deer. Still…
The son apologized for startling me and hoped the car behind him wasn’t afraid! I just kinda smiled and nodded and kept on running. This was all wrong on so many levels….Hahaha!!! Everybody is safe and he missed the deer.
Later on this afternoon, my running coach tagged me on FB. He is an excellent coach and a very funny man. He and about everybody else in the whole wide world knows that Paxton, my lovable pudgy pooch, loves Nutty Bars. This is his FB post:
Got something for Paxton. Oops, too late buddy. I ate it.
Of course, there was a lot of conversation on this post from me, my coach and quite of few of my running buddies about how that wasn’t very nice to poor Paxton. It was a hilarious thread! Of course, you know this meant war. Paxton had to have his say.
MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I decided to take some old magazines to the storage locker and get them out of our bedroom (YAY!). On our way home, we stopped at the gas station and I bought Paxton one PB cookie. We brought the cookie home and I called Paxton. I was going to video Paxton eating the cookie and then post it back to my coach.
Why a cookie???
My coach loves cookies like Paxton loves Nutty Bars. It was the appropriate course of action.

Yes, today was a pretty funny day! This next two weeks are going to be pretty intense. High mileage. Big runs. We are looking to start winding down and begin to taper for the March 5, 50 Mile race. Very, very excited about this race and hope to do well (as in, finish. HA!)
