Happy New Week, Aiden!

We are 13 days away from the Marine Corps Marathon. Counting down the days. Our coach said he wanted us to do another tempo run. You know how good we are at those. HA! We went out and tried anyway. So we ran 6 miles this morning.

It is a super pretty Mississippi morning! We are supposed to have rain move in later today and thunderstorms tomorrow. Paxton will probably spend all day tomorrow hiding in the hall bathroom. Poor Paxton.

We went on a drive yesterday afternoon. We’ve been following the cotton crops this year but the crop I haven’t told you about is the peanuts! Mississippi is a pretty big peanut producing state along with cotton. The fields of peanuts are kinda boring until they dig the peanuts and they did that over the weekend. It bottom right hand pic is of some peanuts that have just been dug up. The farmers will let them dry for a few days before they combine them to separate the peanuts from the plants. Then they will pick them up in a peanut wagon.

My husband and I pulled our fall honey from our bee hives yesterday, too! We put the honey in jars last night. The big pic on the left is what the honey comb looks like before it’s extracted from the comb. Our honey is raw and organic. That means we don’t use any pesticides on our bees and we don’t pasteurize the honey. People from our area ask for our honey for their allergies.

Speaking of allergies, you have an appointment this week with your allergist! You have therapy today? You, my favorite running buddy, have a very big week, don’t you!?! I know you’ll work hard at therapy. Hope to hear good things from the allergist! I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying about that.

Kali wanted to say hi today. She told Paxton to get lost. Paxton was walking by her, minding his own business when she reached out with her kitty paw and smacked him! Paxton didn’t like that much. Naughty Kali and poor Paxton.

The last pic is a place where I like to run in the cooler temps. It is of the river bottoms near my house. When it is warm, there are a lot of not so very nice snakes there and alligators. Alligators are not my friend so I only run there when it is cool. The snakes and the alligators do not like the cool weather much. It is a very pretty road on which to run!

That’s it for today, buddy! Tomorrow’s a rest day. I think I’m done mowing for the year so I guess I’ll have to clean the house. HA! Take care. You’re the very best running buddy ever!

Lots of love and hugs and kisses from me. Paxton is still afraid to come out. Kali is being a stinker today. When the coast is clear, I’m sure he’ll be sending you puppy kisses.

Love, Mel
