Kicked off my week with a lovely 10 miler.
It is a beautiful Monday in Mississippi. Perfect weather. Not a cloud in the sky. MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I headed out the door to grab a few miles before the day got away from us.
MFH told me ahead of time that he only wanted to run 3 so we figured out our route. The first three miles we made a little loop so we could stay together as long as possible. The three miles ended exactly at our doorstop. How perfect is that!?!
Seeing as it was warming up pretty quick, I ditched my shirt with him at the house and continued on for another 7.
I decided for my last 7 miles to keep it simple and took off for Schaeffer’s Chapel. I absolutely love running this route. It’s pretty and seeing that Chapel always makes me happy. Don’t know what it is about that Chapel, but it starts my day off great.
One of the things I do while running is keep my eyes open for photo ops for my little IRun4 buddy. I try to make him feel as much a part of my daily runs as I can. While I’m looking for photo ops, I’m composing the post I’ll put on the board for him when I get back to the house. This passes the time and before I know it, I’m home and all done with my run.
Well, this morning, I was in la-la land on the road to Schaeffer’s Chapel. I’ll let the post to my little buddy tell the story:
Aiden, my little buddy, I did NOT take a pic for you this morning. I am a great big chicken! While we were running our 10 miles (and yes, we did make all 10 this morning!), there was a big, fat rattlesnake crossing the road at the same time we were running! My very first thought was, “Cool! I should take a pic for Aiden!” but then my next thought was, “Are you nuts!?! Rattlesnakes bite and they are NOT your friend!” So, I found this pic on Google. It looks almost exactly how the snake on the road looked…spooky. Sorry I am such a scaredy cat. We did wait for the snake to cross the road and then finished our run. It is sunny and warm today. That makes me happy! Hope you are having a happy Monday, too! Lots of love and hugs from me and Paxton sends puppy kisses. Mel
