Kite Weather

Whew!  I about got blow away on my run this morning!

I did get a little bit of a later start this morning due to being on the phone a little bit longer than usual.  I talk too much!  But, finally, I was off.  I ended up running a little bit over a 10K distance.

Back track:  We have a weather station at our house.  MFH (My Favorite Husband) likes gadgets like that.  It is interesting and I actually like the data I get from it as it pertains to my runs.  So, this morning starting out, it was 64F, 88% humidity and the wind was from the SW at an average of 20 MPH.  It was a tad breezy.  Kite weather!

I knew that 2 of those miles, the first two, I would be heading straight into the wind.  I would be fresh as a daisy and decided that it would not be a problem.  Off I went.

Ran those two miles and turned right for 1.25 miles.  All was well.  Turned back.  The wind shifted.  Now it was coming from the NW.  Rats.  The weather said that is was not supposed to do that until early afternoon and it was only around 8:30 am!

So, the last two miles, running North, I was running straight into that 20 MPH wind again!  This time I was NOT as fresh as a daisy!  The run became difficult and it started to rain.  Might as well, right!?!  The temp held steady at 64F.

I got home, tired, cold and wet.

Tomorrow, I am scheduled to run the same distance.  I think I will pick a different route.  One without so many variables of directions.  One where I will not be running into the wind. At all!

Call me a sissy but that really wore me out.
