We ran this morning in Duck Weather. It was raining enough to make Noah proud. We received 3.56″ of rain during our little squall today. And we were running in the middle of it.
We got wet.
Today was our long run day. We were prepared for a long time on the road. We had our water bottles in our Nathan Belt. In the little pouch we had a few Gu’s and “paper products” (you never know when you may need to “visit the trees”). We set off in the rain, in the dark.
We tried out these cool LED flashlights! They are rectangular instead of round. They kinda look like a pencil/pen. They have a magnetic clip that you can clip onto your belt/waistband etc. When we no longer needed them because it was light enough to run without them, we stuck them onto a stop sign to retrieve on our way back. Worked like a charm!
When we started out, I went, step, step, step, sploosh! I stepped right into a good sized puddle. Rats! But, that was the only puddle I stepped in the rest of the run.
The rest of the run I went step, squelch, step, squelch, step, squelch…
28 days, 19 hours and 23 minutes until the marathon! Hopefully, my shoes will be dry by then! 🙂
