Mrs. Noah

Today’s Run:  Rest Day

I really should have run today after the big doo-dah we had at our house yesterday, but our training schedule for our marathon (Complements of Hal Higdon) says that today is a rest day.  So today, begrudgingly, we rest.

We got a TON of rain yesterday.  2.78″ of rain.  It started sprinkling right around lunch time and kept it up until around 5:00 pm.  Today it is doing the exact same thing.  And it is supposed to repeat this pattern tomorrow and Sunday…all the way until Tuesday.  So far today we have received a little shy of one inch of rain.  But it is early afternoon…we have lots of time to catch up to yesterday’s total!  Do not give up hope!

(My daughter and I had purchased a fishing boat for my husband for Father’s Day.  We may just have to use it, huh? )

Which brings me to a little story.  Back in the day, Once upon a Time…however you want this tale to begin…when my children were  young the church we attended had a program on Halloween night.  The children were to dress up as a Bible character and the congregation tried to guess who they were.

We thought long and hard about my daughter.  She had been an angel, Mary, and other female Bible characters in years past…who to be this year???   Well, it was raining this particular year and while looking for an umbrella to carry to church, inspiration struck (I was really desperate for an idea!).  I had some pink foam rollers…yup, you know what is coming next.  I rolled up her hair, put a bit of blusher and lipstick on her and gave her the umbrella…Ta-Dah!  Meet, Mrs. Noah!  She was a hit!

All that to say, if this rain keeps going until Tuesday, I may have to change my name to Mrs. Noah!

End of story.
