Today’s Run: 3.60 miles
It is that time of day…the time when the dog MUST go for a walk. If you do not take him for the walk, he will drive you crazy until you do. So, my husband and I grabbed the leash, clipped it onto the dogs collar and off we went.
What we forgot is that Kali was outside. Kali is one of our two cats. We never asked for one cat let alone two~but both of our children relocated to different parts of the United States and were unable to take their cats so in the long run, we took their kitties in for them. It has worked out okay since we live in the country and the cats have lots of room to play.
Kali is a black and caramel colored calico cat. She is a small cat and is five years old. She had 4 (or is it 5) litters before she came to live with us. The first week we had her, we got her up to date on shots and had her “fixed”. No more kittens for Kali. She is sensitive to the heat so we have to keep a close eye on her during the Summer.
Anyway, we took off down the road with Paxton. He was really enjoying his walk. The horses were out in the field and he wanted to visit them (we did not let him do this). He was having the time of his puppy life when all of a sudden I heard behind us: *jingle, jingle, jingle* (the bell on Kali’s collar) and the most pitiful “Mew”.
I turned around and there was Kali. She was doing her kitty best to keep up with us but she was panting/overheating and the “Mew” was kind of a croak. “Wait for me!!!” “Don’t leave me!”.
So, we turned around. She waited for us to meet up with her and we all walked, albeit a bit slower, back to the house. She is now laying on the back of the sofa, enjoying the air conditioning. That darn cat!
