Today’s Run: 7.50 very hot and muggy miles!
It was hot today. Hot and humid. The temperature was 78 F. and the humidity was 86%. Sweltering. And we attempted to run in it. The assigned route for the running group today was 12 miles and almost to a man, people turned back at the first water stop and only did 7.50 miles. We were some of the people who turned back.
It was so warm that you got dizzy and disoriented. Bad business when you are trying to dodge traffic and watch for potholes and other runners. But, we did manage to complete the 7 1/2 miles and with a relatively acceptable mph time! So, success!
We passed the “Feed Me Seymour!” plant. Twice. I always expect this plant to reach out and grab me as I go by. It is huge! And it reminds me of that plant in “Little Shop of Horrors”. I do not know if you have ever seen that or not. That plant gets totally out of control! Here is the clip:
So, every time we run past that particular house with that plant, we say, “Feed Me Seymour!!!”. Cannot help it. Must be said. (I stood next to the plant. I am almost 5′ tall and it is bigger than me!)
