Today’s Run: Rest Day
Paxton is Mr. Enthusiasm. He has never met a man, woman, child or another animal that he has not liked. He is just a friendly sort of guy, that Paxton.
Every evening, we take Paxton for a walk. Not only is he Mr. Enthusiasm and needs the walk to work off a little excess energy, but he is also a very pudgy puppy (read: 119 pound Boxer). This walk has a two-fold purpose then. 1: To work off energy so he sleeps through the night and 2: To burn a few extra puppy calories. I do not know if it is working but we do it anyway.
We live out in the country and there is a field near us with nine horses. We walk past the field with the horses every evening. The horses look at Paxton and look bored and Paxton flips out every evening…”Wow~! Horses!!!. Tonight, the horses went, “Hey look~it is that dog again” and Paxton went, “Wow~! Horses!!!”
The horses actually came up to the fencing and sniffed noses with Paxton this evening. You would have thought he had died and gone to puppy heaven. He was so excited!!! He was wiggling all over and his stump of a tail was going back and forth as fast as it possibly could. Could life get any better!?!
So, now Paxton has new friends. He truly is a lucky dog.
