[Today’s run : 2.37 county road 68 and back]
We’ve had some very nice cool weather recently. My wife is telling me the hot is coming back though.
But we had a few days with morning temps in the ’60s and a lower humidity.
Our new house has a lot of landscaping around the house itself, which I find kind of intimidating and annoying. All of it needs to be trimmed all the time.
My favorite house for landscaping was the one in Estes. I sold my lawnmower, didn’t do any trimming or mowing for 10 years. It was wonderful. Then we moved to Mississippi and I had some hedge bushes and wood chips in the drip line near the house. I changed out the wood chips for pea gravel and I wrestled with the hedges all the time we lived there, cutting them back, trying to get them to grow in some kind of tamed manner.
Now I’ve probably got thirty hedge bushes of various types all around this house and I’m thinking maybe I should buy a $250 Stihl hedge trimmer.
In other news, I heard somewhere online recently about a museum in The Netherlands that is putting their whole collection of 80+ Van Gogh paintings out for viewing at once. It is actually the 2nd largest Van Gohh collection. The larges is in Amsterdam to too far down the road. So I mentioned that to my wife and she is actually kind of excited about going to The Netherlands and seeing all of the Van Gogh paintings.
She put in a bit of time yesterday getting our passports renewed online.
I asked for a bit of time to contemplate whether we really want to do that instead of going to visit family (or in addition). But she says we are both getting older and maybe we should be doing a few more of these things before it gets too late.
