[today’s run 3.38 (just past the bamboo house)]
After my run I worked on changing the oil in the lawnmower. I had received a couple of oil filters that I ordered from Amazon. I had some left over oil from doing car oil changes awhile back.
I got the oil drained out and the filter changed then filled it up again. 90.1 hours on the meter.
I used some compressed air and cleaned off the deck and the crannies around the seat.
Then later we drove down the Laurel to get flu shots at Walmart and we did our weekly grocery shopping.
On the way home we stopped at an estate sale and I bought a funny mug and on old pair of binoculars.
The binoculars were a cheaper brand, and I couldn’t really see out of them. It looked like more of a problem going on than just cleaning the glass.
After putting the groceries away I worked on the binoculars and I was able to take them partially apart. I determined there was a big cleaning issue as well as being apparentlly out of alignment. When I tried to clean, I just made things worse. So I ended up taking things further apart including breaking some of the plastic tube pieces. I harvested a the large front lenses which cleaned up real nice, and the two prisims.
I don’t have any real plans for the optics but they are kind of interesting.
It was worth the $5 I spent.
