I have to confess that I didn’t accomplish a lot at my job yesterday. I was captivated by the unfolding story of a small-town government official in Kentucky.
This woman apparently thinks that it was the will of God and of the people of her county that she be their County Clerk. I can go for that.
And she apparently thinks that it is the will of God and of the people of Kentucky that marriage be between one man and one woman. So far so good.
But then, word comes from some lofty place that she must do something differently, breaking her vows to the will of God and the people of Kentucky. And she has the nerve to stick to her principles even to the point of going to jail.
That’s amazing.
