Revisiting old projects

[Yesterday’s run: 5 miles]

I have revisited a couple of successful projects in the last week or so.

First, my home weather station started having trouble.  I chased some wasps out and after that it seemed to straighten itself out without further intervention on my part.

Second, the weather station at the Penenger house is offline.  They changed their internet provider and the new hardware is set up for a different IP address.  I was over there a bit yesterday working on it.  After leaving I thought of another thing to try.  And our backstop solution is to get connected to the beaglebone again and make adjustments to its networking.  I plan to go back over there on Monday afternoon and get it all worked out.

Third, after doing a bit of work on the house wiring in my radio/work/office/studio room (turning off the breaker, doing my thing, turning on the breaker), I remembered that my 10 Mhz GPSDO will flash red until I do a “reset” of the alarm condition caused by powering it off.  That’s kind of a pain because I have to hook up to the serial port and look up how to reset the alarm via the software.  I had read that it was possible to add a push-button switch which would do the same thing.  So this morning I tore into it and I have a switch now installed.  It is plugged in and going; I have to wait until the controller board reaches a “lock” condition and then I can try out the new switch.

No progress to report on the “new” old truck.  Olive Branch contacted me to let me know that they received the money order.  But the repair shop said they can’t go get it until Tuesday.  So I am trying to exercise my patience.  It’s good for me.
