Reminising

[Yesterday: 9 miles, today: resting]

Our kids must have been in preschool or very early elementary school when we took them to a concert. (Must have been in August, maybe 1994?)

The venue was the Grandstand at the Iowa State Fair. There had been a ’60s-oldies concert scheduled but a band dropped out and they brought in the Little River Band.

I don’t remember buying tickets, maybe someone gave us some. I’m not a big concert goer.

I really enjoyed the concert. They sang their biggest hit Reminising.

They also had a couple of soft-rock one-hit-wonder guys along, and those did their thing. I don’t remember who they were now but the songs were recognizable at the time, late ’70s girl schmoozer stuff.

It turns out that was not the first time the Australians had performed at the Iowa State Fair, they had done it in 1981, and wasn’t their last time since I found reference to them being there in 2000.
