Twittering

[Today’s run: 5 miles]

I am back on twitter these days, trying to use social media to push our radio station project. I have tweeted about 100 times in the last few weeks.

I found out there is a non-profits “tech” convention in Washington D.C. today and tomorrow. Lots of people tweeting from there. One interesting tweet was about crowdfunding. I assume they were quoting from a workshop presenter or someone who is supposed to know something.

The quote was along the lines of: the first week things ramp up, then it goes flatline, then there is a big push in the last two days.

I found it to be somewhat encouraging because we had a good bit of publicity two weeks ago and have not seen any contributions except for one I made myself just to make sure the plumbing still worked. I wondered if maybe people had decided we were kaput. But, we have been getting lots of hits on our fundraiser page, over 100 a day, sometimes closer to 200. So someone is looking, or the same people 🙂

But now I’m encouraged. Maybe our final week will be a bit more exciting. I hope so. We’ve been thinking about how we can get the word out more and what to do if we don’t meet our funding goal. But we aren’t ready to do anything drastic… will just keep putting it out there until the end rush comes.
