[Today’s run: Schaffer’s Chapel – 5 miles]
After putting together the autonomous weather station here at home I installed it over in Starkville. Finally, yesterday I got a second system started here at home.
My wife helped me and we got a unit mounted on a post away from the house, one of the posts holding up my antenna feedline to the tower.
I have it hooked up to a serial port and I’m running Kermit and watching it report the readings (the 0R2 line: 70.1F 96.2% humidity). You can see the raw data is not very user friendly.
I have the paypal funds to get a second Beaglebone computer and get this thing running separate from my PC. Then I will eventually need to get battery, charge controller and enclosure if I want to run it autonomously too. Haven’t decided on that yet.
I have yet a third weather station unit. The plan is to sell that one on ebay to help finance the project. I have been kind of slow to get that done. Sad to see it gone, but no real excuse to keep it either.
