Today’s Run: Rest Day
I have told you quite a few times about the chickens I am receiving for Christmas this year. Now, I know that I am getting chickens from my son but I also know that it will not be until some time in January/February until I actually have them.
He told me that he had picked up something “small, kind of a gag gift” for me so I would have something to “open” from him on Christmas. He also said that I could give it to the dog to “rip up” after I had opened it. Interesting.
Today, we had the gift exchange between my husband, my son and myself. I knew what was in the package for my husband. And I knew what was in the package from our daughter. What I did NOT know was what was in the package for me and why he was carrying it so carefully.
Finally it was my turn to open the package from my son. I picked it up and it squeaked! What!?! It sure caught the dogs attention! I tried to open it again, and SQUEAK!!! The dog was right there! “What was that! Let me help you! Open that package, NOW!”. So, I did. I opened it fast~showed no mercy on the wrapping paper.
What do you think it was?
Well, it was green (my favorite color, next to diamonds, that is). It was about (notice I am using past tense here) 8″ long. And it obviously squeaked. The dog was very interested in it, too.
Give up!?!
Can’t tell yet???
It was a green, rubber chicken, squeaky toy! How much fun! For Paxton and for me~
