Baking

Today’s Run: 4.20 miles

Thanksgiving is just two days away and I have been baking.  Why?  Because we are going to have turkey and when you have turkey you are required to have stuffing!  And I love stuffing.  Plain ol’ bread stuffing.

I do not stuff the bird.  My mom always does but I never have.  Adds too much cooking time to the turkey and I am usually starved come around 11:00 a.m. or so.  Adding another couple of hours cooking time just so you can say that you stuff your bird just does not cut it with me.  I want to EAT!

Which brings me to the baking.  I have been baking bread for the bread stuffing.  I had thought that I would just buy “air bread” at the store but do you know that they are asking almost $1.50 for one loaf of bread!?!  Seeing as I almost always bake all our bread, I had a serious case of sticker shock.  I absolutely refuse to pay that much for a loaf of bread.

So, yesterday and today I have had a bread baking marathon.  And I think we have enough bread for our stuffing (and enough for some leftovers~with giblet gravy!  Yummy!!!)
