Voting/Elections/Civic Duty

Today’s Run: 3.55 miles

Tomorrow is election day.  It is a Big Election Day!  We are having the election of President of the United States.  Republican Mitt Romney and Democrat Barak Obama are the two primary people running for President of the United States.  There are other people running of course, but the race is really down to these two individuals.

The majority of the people of this country are very tired (read: sick to death) of all the campaign phone calls, commercials, junk mailings, yard signs…This has been a particularly negative campaign and I think I speak for all Americans when I say, enough already!

But!  If you do not get out and cast your vote, you have no one to blame but yourself if the person you wanted to win but were too lazy to leave the house and vote for, loses.

I had a civics teacher in High School.  Miss Wessel.  She was a very good teacher and taught us the importance of being involved in our communities, local and state elections and especially the election of our national leaders.  So, do Miss Wessel proud and get out and vote tomorrow.

Don’t let people around you at the polls badger you into voting for their person of choice, make up your own mind BEFORE you leave for the polls and stick to your guns!  This is your decision-not some bully trying to change your mind for you while you wait in line (I take a piece of paper with me that has all my decisions written down on it with me and use that at the ballot box just so I do not get confused in the rush).

Vote your conscience, vote what your heart tells you.  Vote.
