Today’s Run: Recovery day
Yesterday, we ran and ran and ran. Today, we have done the absolute minimum of movement. We are sore!
My husband has sore calf muscles. We really are not sure why his calves would be bothering him. We do have a theory, however. During (probably close to half) the race, we ran on the road following traffic instead of against traffic, so the slant of the road was opposite to what we were used to running against. Does that make sense? So the angle of the road was not what we were used to and it got to his calves. Anyway, he is moving slow today.
My quads are sore today. That is an easy thing to figure out. The hills, specifically going down the hills got me. So I, too, am sore. Boy-we are getting old!
We went to church this morning and this afternoon we ran an extension cord out to my son in Starkville and that is it! We are done for the day. We do not walk around unless it is absolutely necessary.
Tomorrow, however is another day and another run. We are planning to run Watson Road which is a little over 3 1/2 miles on a nice gravel, country road. Should be a nice run-get the kinks and knots out of these old bones!
