DMV

Today’s run:  50 min. lifting at the “Y”

Today found us helping Tom get a much needed Mississippi license plate for his car and a matching Mississippi drivers license.  This does not sound like such a big deal but for someone from Colorado to just drop into this state and accomplish this large task is a very big deal.

We encountered our first obstacle yesterday when we arrived at the DMV (department of motor vehicles).  We did not have the required proof of residence (something with an approved address), so we were told to go the the license plate office and register his car. That would give us the needed paper.  So, off we went.  Once we arrived there, more paper work was needed that we did not have.  We admitted defeat and went home.

Today, we went armed with every paper known to mankind, obtained the license plates first so we had the approved paper to prove residence and toddled on over to the DMV.  We only had to wait an hour!  Not too bad!  That hour gave Tom a chance to practice listening to the people here so he could actually understand their accent and answer their questions in an intelligent way.  We were successful!  One license plate and one drivers license.  What will tomorrow bring?  Probably begin contacting the school and finding an adviser.  Never a dull moment here!
