Kitty Cold War

Today’s run:  2.30 miles with a broken toe  Ouch!

Yesterday we picked up Paxton and Kali and brought them home to meet the new kitty of the house, Castro.  Paxton, being Paxton, got his nose hit four times before he figured out that he really did not want to play with the new cat after all.  That is when the fun began. Ever since Paxton bowed out of the conflict, we have had a household full of unhappy cat noises.

Last night the two cats went nose to nose.  They did not exchange blows but exchanged growls and hisses.  At bedtime, Kali (as usual) came to sleep between my legs and started purring.  Castro jumped up on the bed by my feet and just looked at Kali.  Kali went nuts and starting hissing and Castro did the same.  Kali jumped up on the wardrobe and stared at Castro who paced on the floor underneath her. I rolled over.

Seeing that I had moved, Kali knew she had to lay down again between my legs and jumped down.  Castro jumped up again by my feet and hisses were exchanged.  Kali again retreated to the top of the wardrobe and Castro paced.  I rolled over.  Kali jumped, Castro jumped, both hissed and I rolled over.  All night long!  Tonight, I think they can spend the night in their kitty carriers.  What do you think?

Truce?
