Today’s Run: 5.60 miles
Today’s run was along Robinson Road. It is a gravel road used primarily by the county workers and it follows the Tombigbee River.
The section of Robinson Road we ran is in a lower level area~meaning, it is kinda swampy. The road itself is dry but the sides of the road have a lot of undergrowth~kinda oozy and dank smelling. So, we decided that it would probably be in our best interest to keep an eye open for alligators.
Alligators!?! Yup. We always keep an eye open for snakes (at least I do, I’m not so sure if that disturbs my husband or not). The Tombigbee River is well known for housing it’s fair share of alligators and we were running in prime residential area for the lizards.
It really was a beautiful day for running. The weather was in the 40’s, we had a well maintained gravel road on which to run and the trees are turning pretty colors right now~it was perfect! There was just that nagging thought…
“Can I outrun an alligator?”
Fortunately for all involved in this story, we did not have to find out! Not a peep or a hiss from one of those four legged critters. Whew!
