Landscape Guys

Today’s Run:  8 x 400’s

If you recall, this past Summer we build a pergola on the South side of our house.  This was to shield the house from the sun and to give us a place to congregate outdoors that was semi-sheltered.  It is time to continue on with this project.  Ground coverage.

We have a little problem with the ground surface of our pergola.  The yard slopes away from the house at an alarming angle.  We need to shore up the ground before we pour the flooring and also bring in some fill dirt/gravel before we even pour the concrete flooring.  So many things to do but in what order?

My husband had me call around to landscaping contractors and play twenty questions with them regarding what to do to make this part of the project cost effective.  I found this guy (come to find out he lives about a mile from us) who gave us an incredibly reasonable quote.  He had the materials left over from another project, so basically all we had to do was pay for time and labor.  Cool Beans!

He and his minion showed up today and dug a little trench, tamped down some gravel, spread mortar and put down a rock retaining wall for us. He will be back to do a little power washing and then we hand over the cash.  A good deal.
