Residuals

Today’s Run:  3.21 miles

Yesterday we ran intervals.  Intervals are hard.  Very hard.  We ran 400 yards (1/4 mile), pretty much as fast as we could and walked back to the start~eight times (8 x 400’s).  Now that may not sound like much but by the time you are on number eight, you are very thankful that you do not have to do number nine!  So, we were quite pleased with ourselves (my husband and I) that we had had a hard and successful workout.

This morning.  Ugh.  I did NOT want to run this morning.  I was tired.  I was grumpy.  I did not even want to go to the gym instead of a run.  I just wanted to roll over and go back to bed but this would never do!  I had three miles that were scheduled to be run today.  Three miles that seemed insurmountable.

My husband is a wonderful man and a great motivator.  He encouraged me to get going and so I did.  We ran the three miles and actually we ran them quite a bit faster than we usually run!  How about that!?!  Those intervals from yesterday actually worked!  We were getting faster just like we were supposed to.  Cool Beans!!!  So, the residuals of yesterday, aside from being beat, were the residuals we were supposed to get~speed!
