Today’s Run:  9 miles with the running group

Today was a picture perfect morning for running.  The weather was calm.  The sun was shining.  The air was cool (for Mississippi) and the humidity was low.  Absolutely perfect.

We did quite a bit of our run on Williams Road.  We were a little surprised to find the asphalt on Williams Road ground down to the dirt.  We passed three water trucks spraying down the road bed as we passed by.  Lots of dust.  But the road surface was pleasant to be on.  Nice and soft on the feet and knees.

After our nine miles, we were pretty tired.  We stopped by my parents house for a quick visit (we like to do that after our runs on Sat. mornings) and then drove on home.  We decided that a drive to Tupelo was in order.  Shopping was the project of the day.  A person can never be to tired to shop, right?

There is a nice Mall in Tupelo (the birthplace of Elvis Presley) and that was our destination.  First stop, the bathrooms, then Sears.  We went through Sears, nothing to buy there.  Then Dick’s Sporting Goods (lots of stuff to buy there!), JC Penny, Radio Shack, Game Stop, a shoe store and The Loft.  After all that we finally admitted that we were shopped out and decided to leave.

We stopped by the Waffle House for dinner (pecan waffle and coffee) and came home.  I’m pooped!  What a great day we had~cannot afford to do it everyday (we had our very own stimulus package for the economy) but we had a lot of fun.
