Today’s Run:  5 miles

Last week I received a brand new pair of Asics running shoes in the mail from Road Runner Sports.  They have great service and seeing as we are VIP members, we pay no sales tax and get an automatic 10% off all orders.  That is the way to go.

I have been wearing this particular model of Asics for quite a while now so I called and ordered my shoes knowing I would have them two days later~and I did!  But they did not feel the same as the other pairs I have worn.  Funny.  They were a little tight but I figured that I just needed to wear them a few times and all would be well.

I have been wearing them a week now and all is NOT well.  I am losing a toe nail due to the snug fit on my left foot.  Not cool.  Plus my feet hurt when I am running.  Again, not cool.

So, I called Road Runner Sports this morning after my run.  They said, “Oh, we sent you the wrong width!  We made a mistake!  We will send you out a new pair in the correct width within two hours and you just mail back the pair you have been wearing.  No additional charge.”   So, this Saturday I will again have a brand new pair of Asics in which to run and you had better be sure that I will make sure the width is right this time.

Road Runner Sports is really an excellent company with which to do business.  I highly recommend them to any fitness enthusiast.  If you are new to running, go to an established fitness store that can see how your foot strikes when you run.  They should have video equipment or sensor pads to use to determine your running needs.  Try on many different shoes until you find the one for you.  THEN, go the Road Runner Sports because you can save a TON of money on your shoes and running apparel.  This is not a paid advertisement, it is just things I have learned along the way.
