Landscaping

Today’s run:  2.5 miles

We have a dilemma.  We have completed the construction of the pergola/arbor and need to build some sort of a retaining wall before we can pour the concrete pad we want to put down to finish the patio portion of our project.  We are kind of stymied as to how to go about this.

I called a landscape contractor today and had him come over to take a look at what we had planned and accomplished so far.  He seemed genuinely surprised at the good job my husband did on the construction of the pergola (so those of you who helped pound nails, ya’ did good!).  He also seemed to think that the remainder of the project was an easy fix.

This guy has some stone already in stock that he would like to use to build a retaining wall.  So that means no special orders or anything.  He had us drive over tonight to his storage place to look over his selection, to see if we liked what he had available.  We did that.  The next step is to call him back and let him know that the stone would be just fine and then get an estimate from him.  So, that is where we stand.

It is exciting to see this project move along.  We have planned this for close to two years and to be frank, I am in a “pinch me I am dreaming” state right now.  I just cannot quite get it into my mind that this is really coming about.  But, it is and I think it will be super!
