I bet you thought I misspelled #IRun4Aiden, didn’t you? I DO run for Aiden and I always will because he is my best-est buddy ever but today something happened and I wanted to share it with you.
Before I left for my 50M race I applied for a spot as a 2017 Ambassador for #IRun4Ultra. I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed ever since!
Today I received an email and I thought, “Oh no! They didn’t get my application!” I immediately re-applied…just in case.
An hour later, in my email, I found this:
I started doing the Happy Dance!!!
What is #IRun4Ultra? Thought you’d never ask. This is a place to encourage others. To support. To motivate. It’s not often you find an organization that has these things as their foundation!
I just had to tell y’all about the good news!!!
Now, today’s run. Let’s chat about that for a few:
It wasn’t uber hot today so I decided to tackle Limerock Road…again. This stretch of road is my arch nemesis. For the life of me, I can’t put my finger on why this is so challenging but it kicks my backside every. single. time. I go back to it, thinking to myself, “Today I’m going to conquer this stretch of road!” Someday, I will! Today was not that day.
Sure, I survived! I covered my assigned 10 miles but it sure wasn’t pretty. LOL!!!
Only two more training runs and we will have wrapped up 2016. I think(?) we’ll complete the year with 2238 miles. Somewhere around there.
2016 has been an amazing year! I am truly #blessed!
Thank you for tagging along on all my running adventures. You’ve seen the good and the bad but you’ve seen me keep plugging along.
The Mississippi Blues Marathon is in 10 days and my first 100 Miler, Rocky Raccoon 100 is in 37 days! Here’s to an exciting 2017!!!
