Yesterday was another dark o’clock running day.

Have to admit, I really enjoy these very early morning runs.  Not a huge fan of when the alarm goes off but once I’m running, it’s great!

Now, you all know that my long run days are on Wednesday.  This works well in our schedule.  MFH (My Favorite Husband) doesn’t enjoy super long runs anymore so no matter what, my long runs are solo.  He enjoys the Saturday morning running group. Good people there!!!  Super duper FAST people there so if I tried to do my long runs with the group, they’d be solo, too!

So, I do my long runs on Wednesday and if I go to running group, I can run with MFH.  It works!

Back to Wednesday.

My alarm went off at 1:00am.  I had been dreaming that it was 11:30pm so I was a sad panda when my alarm went off.  Hopped out of bed and went in the kitchen.

My coach had me try something new for this run.  UCAN.   Mixed the UCAN, drank it and got dressed for the run. https://www.generationucan.com/home.html

The night before I had mixed up 50 oz of Tailwind for my UD hydration vest.  Grabbed the hydration vest out of the fridge, put if on and headed out the door.

This was supposed to be a 2.5 hr run in my green zone.

It was very warm and humid so I wasn’t very zippy but was having a solid run.

About 1.5 hrs into the run, I noticed my hydration pack was chafing my lower back.  I’ve worn this pack many times without any problems but I’d never worn it with the reservoir. It sat differently and I didn’t notice the rubbing until then.

I stopped and called MFH.  I needed a shirt.  I told him what shirt I needed and where it was.  Bless him!  He drove it out to me and I finished the run.

13 miles later, I pulled into the driveway.  I had gone through all 50 oz of Tailwind and was down 3.5 pounds.  How is that possible!?!  Still can’t believe that one!

It really was a terrific run!

After the run, I helped MFH finish packing for his business trip and waved good-bye as he drove away.  He’ll be back in 2 weeks.  Two. Very. Long. Weeks.

MFH will get to visit with #1 Daughter and pop in at the office.  He’ll have a nice visit and then stop by his parents place on his way home.
